Last week saw huge powder dumps across the Alps, with northern France and Switzerland seeing their biggest storms in almost 30 years. Thanks to this, several ski destinations opened lifts early, including fan-favs Avoriaz, Chamonix, and La Plagne. Add to this even more openings this week, and I think we can say it: December's pistes are looking mighty peachy!
This week, the storms are chilling out a bit. Light snow is expected on Tuesday and Thursday, mostly in the Pyrenees and Western Alps. These smaller dumps should freshen up the slopes in Andorra, France, Austria, and Switzerland, but don’t expect the monster amounts from last week.
